Making your ideas a reality

I've been fascinated by art for as long as I can remember. I was always looking for things to draw everywhere I went. I loved trying to recreate professional artwork from my books.

That desire to recreate the work of professionals has given me a great eye for detail in my own work. I tend to focus so much on the tiniest details in my work that I have to turn the piece upside down in order to look at the image as a whole. Weird I know.

Part of what I like about art is the challenge. In my quest for a challenge, I decided to try to create a portrait. I haven't looked back since. Portraits are by far my favorite type of art to create. It's strange how much you feel like you know a person after spending days staring at every detail of them.

My search for a medium that allowed me to achieve the realism I was after eventually lead me to digital art. I was hooks for the moment I started with it. Digital art allows me to zoom way into the smallest sections of my art and get as detailed as I want.

When creating an art piece, especially a portrait, my ultimate goal is for people to doubt that it's a hand drawing. If people ask who the photographer was I consider it a success. It doesn't hurt if I can make someone cry too.

I'm always trying to get better with everything I do. If I'm not improving with every single piece then I'm doing something wrong.
