I am a recent graduate of Kent State University looking to expand my editorial experience. Through my coursework, I gained plenty of editorial skill that I hope to use on real projects.
During college, I worked as an English tutor at the Writing Commons. In this position, I learned everything about English grammar and usage because I had to be an expert on this topic. I implemented this knowledge into my sessions with an editorial method, and many of my sessions left satisfied with the papers I'd worked on.
The bulk of my experience comes from my coursework. I recently finished Editing and Publishing and Grammar for Editing, classes that taught me how to edit manuscripts meticulously and through different styles. I learned how to use Chicago, AP, MLA, and APA styles. I picked up these styles easily, and if necessary, I could learn other styles quickly, as well. In my Editing and Publishing class, we were able to work with real manuscripts because my professor is an editor for Palgrave Macmillan. She would send our marks and feedback to the authors. Along with this, she had us write reader's reports and learn how to index. I received A's in both of these courses, showing how successful I can be in this setting. You can also take a look at my online portfolio if you would like to see my editorial work (https://www.jordanheadings.me).
I am highly qualified to edit your material. My past experience and eagerness to learn makes me the ideal person to work on your projects. I will have whatever you need back quickly and error-free. You won't be disappointed.
