About

My goal is to use my substantial scientific expertise to produce high quality work that will meet the client's needs.

I have been a Neuroscientist for the last 12 years. I have now decided to use my substantial scientific background and writing experience in academia as a freelancer.

My latest professional experience was as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Western Ontario. My project focused on the modulation of cognitive deficits and pathological hallmarks of Alzheimer's disease using an animal model. My duties included planning and execution of experiments, analysis and presentation of data, and writing abstracts and papers. This project has given me substantial knowledge of the neurobiology and the literature of neurodegenerative diseases. I am currently involved in writing a review paper and will be writing a paper reporting the results of my project in the next month.

My previous professional experience was as a postdoctoral associate at Weill Cornell Medical College. My work focused on the neurobiological basis of sex differences in hypertension and the increased susceptibility to hypertension in menopause. This work gave me additional experience in central cardiovascular control and hypertension, while giving me substantial background in sex differences and endocrinology. Additionally, I was involved in the writing of two book chapters on sex differences in neural regulation of hypertension and on models of ovarian failure.

I did my PhD at University of Porto, Portugal. I studied the central nervous system association of cardiovascular and pain control. My PhD gave me an invaluable experience in Neuroscience, not just in technical skills to conduct experiments, but also in data analysis, writing papers and abstracts for meetings, and communicating my work. My PhD was approved with distinction.

Besides science, my interests include arts and culture, human and civil rights, animal welfare and sports.

Work Terms

My work hours are flexible. I do not work on multiple projects at the same time to guarantee maximum quality.
