Graduating from the Naval Academy, Mr. Gattuso served as a naval aviator, flying the A-7E and F/A-18 aircraft. His career included several squadron tours, a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, duty at the U.S. Naval Academy as a leadership instructor and mentor, a tour as an instructor in the F/A-18 Hornet, and a final tour instructing in tactics and the operational level of warfare at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center in Fallon, Nevada. The majority of his tactical time was spent in the close air support regime, usually under 500 feet. He has more than 2,400 flight hours in single-seat tactical jet aircraft, with approximately 400 carrier landings. He has worked as an independent naval strategist and as a consultant advising on future force structure issues.
Mr. Gattuso has been a follower of Jesus the Messiah since 1978. He is committed to the principles and standards expected of a servant of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and will accept no work that would require he violate or marginalize those principles or standards.
His proposal experience includes efforts supporting numerous U.S.-based private security firms, as well as companies doing business internationally. His main areas of expertise are relatively large ($400M-$4B) proposals supporting private-sector national security support, security systems, maritime security, and shipbuilding.
He has published numerous articles on the art of warfare, leadership, and the role of the private sector in national security. He is currently the Managing Director for The Wild Olive Press, a Christian publishing company, publishing "Wagon of Fools" among other titles. His mother taught him to read at the age of two, and he has been reading ever since.
He lives and works from his farm in northern Maine, with his wife, 14 draft horses, 20 sheep, nine cows, five dogs, three pigs, and chickens too numerous to mention. Other hobbies include weight lifting, war-games, and football.
Work Terms
Working Hours: as required to meet deadlines or finish your project; will travel if required, but you must pay travel expenses.
Payment Terms: For editing/proofreading jobs - .05/word, minimum $25.00; For management consulting / Enterprise architecture development, rate is negotiable, based on several factors: (1) Size of the task (usually estimated in hours); (2) Level of expertise required; (3) Time available to complete your job; (4) Maturity of your company/organization/project. If royalties are involved, would be willing to adjust my hourly rate for a share of royalties.
