PhD in English available for technical and academic writing and editing
Joseph Radke has spent the better part of the last decade teaching college-level writing courses ranging from remedial English to advanced research writing.
Dr. Radke served as a copy editor in the Bid and Proposal Department at Oshkosh Defense. He worked on several federal contract proposals including a Humvee replacement proposal to the DoD worth up to nine billion dollars.
Dr. Radke has quickly gained a broad range of proposal development and writing skills. He has worked on several contract proposals, ranging from one for a major tactical vehicle program worth up to nine billion dollars to smaller technology development grant proposals. Through his work, Dr. Radke has support virtually all aspects of proposal development, including editing multiple proposal drafts for style, messaging, consistency, and compliance. In addition, he has processed RFP requirements into compliance matrices, checked facts, and proofed and revised graphics. He has edited technical, cost/price, past performance, and manufacturing volumes, as well executive summaries. Dr. Radke is experienced in the Shipley proposal development process and provided onsite support for color team reviews at all stages of the drafting process. Over the course of his writing/editing career, Dr. Radke has developed extensive knowledge of various writing style guides including Chicago, GPO, AP, MLA, and APA. In addition, he developed and presented training sessions for SMEs and new copy editors.
