Creativity and Openness to New Experiences: These are the traits that have fueled my life so far. My creativity led me to study English literature and creative writing, to teach outside the US for years, and to become a teacher-research at the university level.

My journey began in academia with creative writing. It was the reason I sent to college in the first place. I wrote fiction, but another love took possession of me early on: travel, and knowing people from diverse backgrounds.

How exciting to leave the US and be immersed in other points of view! I traveled to Mexico to teach and gozar la vida. Next I taught in Germany, and then finally in China.

After China, I went to get my PhD. My PhD journey led me to multiple academic publications. This was a nice change of pace from my previous creative publications (two novels and a dozen short stories in literary journals).
