Hello, yes my name is Karen Shortridge. I am a full-time childcare worker, nine years in the field. My own children are almost grown and out of the house. For the last four years I have also been the assistant chess coach for my children's chess team.

While I do seem to have a busy life, I actually have many free hours where I enjoy surfing the web, catching up with friends on Facebook, watching movies with my husband, playing single player console based games or MMORPG's on the computer, reading sci-fi or fantasy books, and playing card, board, or role-playing games.

I know a little about many things and am always striving to learn more. I have taught myself how to crochet, do needlepoint, sew basic things such as pillowcases or rice bags (the internet is such a wonderful resource).

Work Terms

Willing to work evenings after my full time job, weekends only when necessary to complete a job. Fair pay for fair work, nothing less than $8/hr, have not decided on a fixed rate as I do not honestly know how much my work is worth.
