Inspired by earth, driven by coffee.
Jewelry artist, painter, graphic designer, writer and amateur philosopher, Kate Jones, is an Ohio native and a 2008 graduate of The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago (Cincinnati branch,) where she studied graphic design. She briefly continued her studies at The Art Academy before deciding to pursue a freelance career as a designer.
Through a series of life events, Kate’s creative path eventually led her to the world of handcrafted jewelry. Not one to wear it often herself, Kate’s passion for creating “wearable sculptures” surprised even her. She now spends much more time than her spouse would prefer in her small studio inside her home in southwest Ohio.
When she is not in her studio, you will find her peddling her wares at various art festivals in the region, including the Essex Studios’ art walks, Madeira Art Fair, Augusta’s Art in the Garden, Maysville Uncorked, Wheat Ridge Herb Festival, Milford Historical Society’s Art Affaire and many more. Kate also enjoys coffee, British television, art deco and art nouveau, coffee, her pets, spending time on her small homestead, coffee, exploring urban landscapes, and coffee.
In March of 2017, Belle Armoire Jewelry magazine will feature a profile about Kate, her work, and her determination and need to find success as a working artist.
To learn more about Kate, her work, and her passion for coffee, you can find her on Facebook, Instagram, Google+ and Twitter @WiredBohemian. To purchase Kate’s work, you may visit her website at WiredBohemian.com or view a selection of her work at Indigenous Gallery, located in the O’Bryonville neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio.
