Hello there--my name is Katie, and I began this freelance adventure when I uprooted myself to follow my fiance to business school. I know what you're thinking, but don't worry--I insisted he put a ring on it if he wanted me to follow him. So he did. And here we are! I have a bachelor's in English/Creative Writing and Psychology from Sweet Briar College and a master's in Public Communication from American University.

I continue to do work on a contract basis for the public relations/marketing firm for which I previously worked, which includes project management, social media posting, blog writing and honing my Dreamweaver skills. I have also worked extensively in traditional PR, having secured 100+ interviews in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Forbes, Bloomberg, CNBC, Bloomberg Radio, Fox Business and more. But let's be honest, I also get sent an assortment of tasks, meaning I get to don my Jill of all Trades hat. But hey, I see it as a compliment that I'm trusted with all kinds of projects.

I'm looking for projects that I find enjoyable and continue to hone my skills. In particular, social media, content writing, blogging, editing, press releases and project management are up my alley, but I'm always open to new challenges. Anything that involves humor is a bonus, as I must confess I do a great job of being snarky yet professional. Dave Barry is my hero.

I'm an avid equestrian and competed at the collegiate level. I also enjoy musical theater, a cappella music and satirical literature.
