I aim to bring more art into the world through the mixture of design and literature, as well as foster communication by helping writers clarify their prose so it can be easily understood.
Hello, everyone! When I decided to go to graduate school, I considered myself a poet first and a designer second. Now, I consider myself a designer first. I live in North Carolina, and I am an MFA candidate in poetry at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. For income, I am a graduate teaching assistant in UNCW's Publishing Laboratory, where I teach design and publishing classes and design promotional materials for the creative writing department. I also work as an intern at a small press (Lookout Books), where I design book interiors (the latest book I was the lead designer on is titled Astoria to Zion: Twenty-Six Stories of Risk and Abandon from Ecotone's First Decade), copyedit and proofread forthcoming books, read manuscripts that have been submitted, and create original content for Lookout's blog (lookout.org).
