About

A journalist and literature student busy rummaging for answers in the world of words....

A lot of things can make you unique- your name, habits, choices or genes. What truly does make us a masterpiece in this Sisyphean world is our stand. You don't need to be well versed in the art of 'people-pleasing' but instead should focus on being a self pleaser. Simply put, if you are happy, so is the world.
A trained journalist by profession, I chose to go ahead and do a Masters course in English Literature despite having interned under Devyani Onial and getting a job at ANI, only and only because life is too short for simply 'wishing' and doing nothing to get there. I don't wish to grow old, only to look back and wish I had done that what my heart desired me to do. In your 20's this line usually means a charming lover. In my case, it was my ardent love for books.
The words of a page, the dialogues of a movie, the drama of a sitcom or a painting of a period... what are they but a form of expression? What felt like an innocent adventure to get lost in an Enid Blyton novel in the end of a hard day at school, got honed into a magical zeal to devour the worlds and times I might never get to witness first-hand in three years of graduation and then two years of masters in English Literature. A Post-graduation Diploma in English Journalism and a three months internship in Indian Express only shaped the critical approach I had gained while reading Derrida, Sappho and Tagore.
I don't wish to work for the sake of it. Honestly, I'm interested in offers that will help me exercise my learning in form of write-ups and editorials. I'm interested in offering my editorial assistance to manuscripts, writing articles pertaining to the cultural diversity that surrounds us and the popular culture that we devour in our lives as much as it derives from us.

Work Terms

A diligent and time bound worker, I tend to complete my projects before time. While money is not the motivation behind the projects I apply in, doesn't mean I don't need food to survive. Attitude towards the work at hand will never be an issue. Bare minimum, my services are available for five days a week. Mode of payment can be discussed with the interested party in line of what's convenient to us both. Conversation via Email will be preferred.
