I am passionate about Construction Engineering and Capital project estimating. My mission is to provide the best possible estimate along with great construction advice for your project.

I am 58 yrs young, still full of energy and I am a vastly experienced (over 30years) professional in the Engineering and Construction industries. I have worked in a variety of areas - Pulp and Paper, Power Generation, Aluminium Smelting, Industrial Refrigeration and Petrochemical plants.
Started my career as a Welder, then moved to Supervision, Weld Inspection, Project Engineering, Superintendent (Piping & Welding), Planning and Scheduling, Construction Management and as of late estimating for a Capital project portfolio in the Oil & Gas industry.
As I have moved through my career from welding, through to management and other areas I have gained valuable knowledge in how a project runs from go to whoa! I have gained many insights into the Design and Engineering world, the Project management world, and the murky world of Instrumentation and Electrical....this, along with my Piping and general Construction background gives me a great holistic view of projects enabling me to (if required) focus on a particular part of a project either from a cost perspective or construction perspective.
On a personal level I am married with 2 teenage children (boy & girl) with my eldest (boy) off to Uni to do a music degree. The pressure is on him now to form a great rock band and play at my 60th...looking forward to it!
My hobbies/other passions are motorcycles and fishing, and swimming and yoga for fitness. I love riding my motorcycle (old Laverda) on long trips and I'm also starting out with building custom motorcycles - mainly starting out with some 80's & 90's small to mid capacity Japanese motorcycles. We'll see where that takes me.
Doing that, and freelancing from home allows me to live how I want and that is working from home. For me this is the ideal working situation which is what I hope to be doing well into my retirement years.

Work Terms

I'm flexible in my work hrs, would like to freelance around 20hrs a week if I can. This leaves me free to work on other personal things - like my motorcycles, and yes there's work to do around home too..
As far as rates go I'm happy to negotiate these along with the expected hrs for a given task.
My estimate templates are copies of ones that were developed over the last few years where I had spent most of my time just doing estimating. These are in Excel format and can be modified to suit.
The more information I can be provided, whether detailed or conceptual will go a long way to a better outcome for all.
