For 26 years my career has been focused on business start-ups, turnarounds, and reboots. I have done this for myself and others, private, public, and venture capital funded.
For a little less than a year I have been consulting for all types of growth companies. While new here, on oDesk I have 100+ hours with a 5 out of 5 rating on100% of the jobs that I have had there. They usually start with wanting a business plan written and in two scenarios, post funding, I was requested to remain on the board. Prior to general consulting, I spend 8 years building an educational consulting business to large financial firms, supplying them with content for their retail clients.
Prior to consulting I reported to the Chairman of the Board building an OTC stock company to a NASDAQ small cap company while increasing the stock price by 92% in 18 months. I went to that company after building a 2 person venture capital funded firm to a full time employee base of 400. That firm was sold to Lehman Brothers. Directly before that I spent 13 years building and then selling what is referred to as a Super Regional mortgage banking firm.
During that time I also for 7 years owned a title company, rehabbed and flipped some houses, build some houses and with partners developed some residential real estate.
Personally, I have 4 terrific children with whom I love to travel, play golf, go to the beach, and enjoy everything about Lancaster City, PA.
I have attached a copy of my resume for your review.
Work Terms
I live on the US East Coast, specifically eastern PA. While I like to spend most of my work time during that time period I am very flexible. This is evidenced by the fact that I am spending the time on Labor Day evening completing this profile.
In relation to communication I will state that I am the one that tends to be most frustrated over lack of communication from my clients rather than the other way around. I check my email until late in the evening 7 days a week. I also prefer telephone conversations as a matter of staying on the same track as my client.
In relation to compensation I usually get paid weekly. I do not like fixed price projects as they are the only ones that I have been stiffed on. Paying by the hour is more equitable and thus preferable.
