About

A freelance fiction writer, sculptor, and illustrator with a background in anthropology and a passion for detail.

I am a freelance writer, illustrator, and recent graduate of Rollins College (magna cum laude) with a BA in Anthropology and minors in Archaeology and Theatre Arts. I have written for The Odyssey (an online publication targeting millennials); researched, wrote, and edited the scripts for a short science-themed TV show on the Sarasota County Education Channel; been awarded over ten Scholastic Gold Keys for poetry, memoir, and short stories, as well as my 2D art (which received a nomination for the American Visionary Award); and on my own time, have written several novels (YA sci-fi, paranormal, and fantasy), for which I am currently pursuing publication. I also run an Etsy store where I sell my polymer clay sculptures, watercolor paintings, and pen illustrations.

I pride myself on my never-ceasing love of learning, my ability to pick up new skills very quickly, and my knack for condensing large amounts of information into few words while still packing a punch. I am always willing and eager to try something new—in my art, my writing, and in life. My favorite things to write are sweeping speculative stories (particular for readers aged 12-25) with complex characters, high emotional stakes, and flashes of humor, but I also excel at expository writing.

I also have a background in art, having taken classes in illustration, watercolor, photography, landscape drawing, and sculpture—great for tasks like drawing maps for fictional settings and illustrating children's books. Please contact me for more samples of my art.

In my free time I play the mandolin, travel with my family, collect stickers, and stay up to date in the worlds of YA fiction and TV animation. As a recent college graduate, I’m excited to get more professional experience under my belt and flex my writing and art skills. I’m flexible, friendly, self-motivated, and willing to work with you as much as needed to make your vision a reality. Thank you for visiting my profile!

Work Terms

I generally charge $12 per hour for both my writing and art. I am best reached by email, but am willing to text if that is what the client would prefer. I like having a written record of our conversations so I can be positive I'm providing the best service possible.
