Doing what I love - what more could I ask for?
Psychology professor, mental health and substance abuse therapist, and college-level online course writer/curriculum developer.
My skills include communication, teaching/instruction, program development, writing (creative, blog, academic, and professional), assessment, research, therapy, and skills development.
Strengths: Excellent command of the English language, very strong writing skills in areas such as mental health, addiction, health psychology, self-help, parenting, neuroscience, and neuropsychology, the ability to work well under pressure and meet all required deadlines, and a strong creative and imaginative mind. I am also a bit of a perfectionist, which means I value quality work that is done right.
My writing background is extensive and varied. During my graduate studies, I was writing 2-3 papers a week and graduated with a 3.9 GPA. As a university professor for 5 years, I have had the ability to hone my proofreading and editing skills with my student's papers. I have been published in Recovering the Self: A Journal of Hope and Healing and have written scientific research papers to present at various psychological conferences.
Interests: Creating an amazing story out of a couple of words, helping people reach their goals, reading everything from Pema Chodron to Michio Kaku, and MMA...my stress management technique!
