Gain competitive business advantage through learning and knowledge sharing processes
I bring over 30 years of experience helping organizations incorporate learning and knowledge sharing into their standard work processes, producing positive their bottom line impact. Sample results:
- 20% reduction in time new hires spent in training at a Pharmaceutical company
- 35% improvement in on-line submission of clinical reports directly accelerating revenue recognition at a Clinical Research organization
- 65% reduction in errors leverage IP from previous projects at a Blood Testing Equipment manufacturer
- "on-going usage of lessons learned credited as a primary factor in successful attainment of aggressive site transfer goals in a manner transparent to customers" at a Semiconductor company
I have worked as both an internal and external consultant with clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 Organizations, in such diverse industries as:
- Biotech/Pharma
- Financial Services
- Food Manufacturing
- High Tech
- Human Services
I have managed the complete Learning and Development Operations Life Cycle from needs assessment and contracting to evaluation and post-launch activities. I have created, managed, and conducted face-to-face and remote classroom training in addition to e-Learning and blended courses on a global basis. A standard aspect of my role has been working with shared resources and subject matter experts. On a regular basis my responsibilities included training and certifying client staff to assume course responsibilities for their organization.
My approach is described in the chapter entitled "Gaining Competitive Advantage by Leveraging Lessons Learned" which I wrote for The PDMA Tool Book for New Product Development published by Wiley and sons.
Work Terms
After scoping out the project I will put in the necessary hours to achieve client success. I prefer to work a 30 - 40 hour, Monday - Friday schedule, but I will put in extra hours, as necessary. My standard rate is $50 per hour, but I can also work on a fixed price basis. Both in terms of hours and compensation I will proactively flag potential delays, and if they are due to factors outside of my control (e.g., changes in scope, missed client deliverables) I will propose re-negotiating the contract. I have worked as both a 1099 and W-2 consultant. My preference is to be paid biweekly, but with some projects I have been paid upon completion of agreed-upon deliverables.
