Efficient and Effective Jill of All Trades
I am a mother of 2 and a Financial Advisor for one of Canada’s top retail banks. IFIC, PFSA, FP1.
I am a former Marketing Executive creating and executing strategic marketing strategies for both digital and print for a multi million dollar industrial supply firm. I negotiated with major brands for sponsorships based on their held stock volumes and degree of promotion.
I worked as an LTO elementary teacher for Core French (JK to Grade 4), Grade 6 Math and Grade 6 Intensive French.
I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster majoring in Earth Science. During this time I co-authored a research paper that was published. I worked as a GIS Analyst and Jr hydrogeologist for an international engineering and environmental consulting firm post graduation for a few years. I employed drafting softwares (ArcMap, ArcScene, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, etc) along with the observations from designed field tests to generate findings. I produced memos, reports and contributed to some multimillion dollar projects including the hydrogeological investigative monitoring at the Victor Diamond Mine and a Mississauga/Toronto basement flooding project which won Engineering Proejct of the Year in that year.
I have also worked in events coordination with a not for profit helping businesses integrate triple bottom line sustainability into their business plans. I designed logos, sourced venues and speakers, worked with them on content, collaboratively created marketing plans and media releases for events, managed attendees, secured catering, solicited feedback etc. I then grew in that role to manage business development with the launch of a new program so became familiar quickly with CRM and pipeline management, cold calling, and instilled strong relationship management skills.
On the side I have written for a political blog under a pseudonym which I grew organically in under a year to 14,000 followers. I then worked as an editor periodically for that same online site.
