I am a writer, born on the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands and grew up in Laurel, MD. A mother of one adult child, I served as a legal secretary for 10 years and worked with Fortune 500 accounting firms, Washington lobbyists, umbrella organizations for national not-for-profit organizations and served as the editor of my college newspaper. I love learning, which following the facts always leads to. Story-telling is my passion, as it provides insight into the human condition and brings understanding and empathy to topics that seem too difficult to confront and even more challenging to discuss. It is important to me to write pieces that show our collective humanity, removing judgment and blame. In this way, I fulfill my purpose and honor my God, who is the loving Father, who created me. It is my intention to uplift readers and spread hope, in addition to a message of promoting constructive action. There is no time that this generation needed this message more than now. Now is the time and we are the people, who have to take a stand and state that we are our brother’s keeper.
