Currently employed as a design engineer for Metcalfe Catering in Blaenau Ffestiniog, my duties here include taking briefs through a new product development process (introduced by myself at start of employment). During this time I create concepts, CAD models, prototypes and dimension drawings ready for manufacturing. I also handle the transition of the drawings to manufacture and inspect first offs to ensure they are to drawing and to adequate standard. My current position is a joint venture with Coleg Menai who overlook my progress and provide training where required (Joint venture is called Knowledge Transfer Partnership). Prior to this I have worked as a design and development engineer at two height safety components manufacturers (DMM Wales and ISC Wales). My duties here were mainly concept design and development to the production stage where it was handed over for manufacture.
With a degree in product design, a green belt award in lean six sigma and further awards in management and quality control I am trained to take on most work within the design industry from leading a team of designers to overlooking the process and providing quality control support along the way!
At only 22 years old I believe I have huge room to grow given the opportunity to do so and hope to work with you in the near future!
Work Terms
Can only work after 5pm Mon-Fri and any time during the weekend
Any form of communication is fine, phone is usually easier as more detail can be given, happy to meet on weekends for face to face meetings to show drawings etc or can be done via email.
