I design with an attention to detail and appeal to create perfect visual communication. I also am an award-winning doctoral scholar in areas of religion, ethnography, film, and environment.
I describe myself as a multi-dimensional creative intellectual. At eighteen, I received an Associate's Degree in Political Science with highest honors. A few years later, I finished my B.A. with magna cum laude at Northwestern University having received several highly-competitive grants, scholarships, and awards along the way for my ethnographic research on women in religion, a film on unofficial worker class in Argentina and a subsequent sustainability project among that working community. All throughout these early years, I learned how to use various graphic design and editing software, film equipment, audio software, and more for my work. I moved to North Carolina afterwards where I had the opportunity to start an educational center for college students interested in Eastern religion and philosophy. I joined a band, played bass guitar, and co-managed the band to produce their first album. I designed the band's website, wrote press releases, designed the album covers, had a few thousand CDs produced, managed the budget, released the album on all the largest digital music stores and streaming sites, and created and implemented a successful Indiegogo fundraising campaign to fund the endeavor. I also worked as a Web and Marketing Manager for a Veterinarian association during this time, where I distilled technical articles written by veterinarians and turned them into easily accessible and readable blog posts. There, I also managed all social media accounts and growth reports and worked as an in-house graphic designer. Now, I am a PhD candidate at Duke University, researching, writing, and presenting on international religious networks and I founded and own KM Design + Marketing, a creative agency helping small and large businesses meet their design and marketing needs. To recount these portions of my work and accomplishments is only to give you a sense of the range and depth of my knowledge and skill set. It is my hope that one of these skills will be of service.
