Any programmer can write you some code. I can help you feel in control and well-educated, ensuring you get the best product for your specific situation.
After spending years working in the industry as both a professional and a hobbyist, if there's one thing that I've always noticed, it's that the communication between the product owner and the developer is lackluster. A good product is absolutely dependent on both sides of the party being on the same page with regards to the direction the product is heading. Any programmer can write you some code. I can write you code that fits your needs specifically, and keep you updated and involved along the way.
Work Terms
I'm employed full-time, and this is work that I do for fun. I will devote at least one to two hours of full-attention coding to your project every night until it's completed at a minimum. Sometimes, projects interest me a lot and I work many more hours than that - I'm simply guaranteeing a minimum effort. Payment will be half up-front, half upon completion. I will refund the up-front half if I fail to complete the project, unless you choose to take what has been completed so far.
For long-term projects, I can provide weekly, comprehensive updates on what was done to reach completion of the project - for those interested, this can grant valuable insight into how the coding world works! For short-term projects, I can provide snippit-style updates daily so you're aware of how things are progressing.
Communication of requirements absolutely MUST be done through e-mail. All requirements for fulfillment of the project will be agreed upon before any work is started. I'm more than willing to communicate through Skype if you require clarification on anything, but as previously mentioned, any and all requirements must be communicated in writing.
Some customers have a general idea of what they want and nothing more. If that's you, that's okay - I can also provide you with consultation services to help you really flesh out what, exactly, you're looking for - even if you decide not to hire me for the coding aspect (I will only charge a nominal fee for consultation if no coding is performed).
I will provide you with the finalized, agreed-upon program once work is completed. This does NOT include the source code. If you would like the source code, which provides you with several benefits, we can discuss this - keep in mind, this will add to the total cost significantly. If you're not sure whether or not you want the source code, I'm more than happy to explain the pros and cons of this to you!
