I am seeking to provide both quantitative and qualitative work as an administrative assistant.
I am a graduate of McNair High, proficient in a variety of computer software programs, and a highly skilled administrative assistant with over four years of experience. I am self-motivated and more than able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines. I constantly seek to learn more about myself and discovered that I have a melancholy temperament according to the Florence Littauer personality assessment; meaning, I have a strong attention to detail.
I worked as a contractor for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through three staffing agencies; Randstad Work Solutions, Express Personnel, and Quantel Staffing as an Administrative Assistant II. I was responsible for holding a high regard for confidentiality and discretion keeping all governmental information private. I executed many general office duties to include utilizing Microsoft Office Suite software programs and answering multi-line telephone systems both quickly and courteously. I managed an Outlook schedule for both the onsite CDC supervisor and myself to prioritize tasks and keep up with important meetings.
While with Professional and Scientific Associates (PSA), I was responsible for assisting senior management with the preparation and execution of off-site conferences contracted through the CDC. I demonstrated excellent decision making skills when I faced various obstacles such as the time I was responsible for acquiring a security company for a conference to be held in Seattle, Washington and after the contracts did not go through I contacted the hotel staff to find a space we could use to lock-up our essential items. I served as a liaison for clients and performed various functions for conferees such as: printing, assembling and collating meeting materials for both the CDC and PSA. I prepared and proofread materials to ensure all correspondence was accurate and professional.
