I don't believe in writer's block
Canadian/Bahamian and home schooled. Writing was a passion and obsession of mine growing up. The written word always made sense to me, and since I traveled so much at a young age, writing was my only constant companion.
I couldn't tell you how many workshops, seminars and courses I have taken based in writing. I completed my first "novel" when I was 13, it consisted of 90,000 words; and at least once in a year I complete a 30,000 words in a month challenge. The most I have written is 109,000 in one month.
On top of being able to deliver content quickly I will also deliver quality. As I didn't have a formal education I had to write a letter to the school I wanted to study with detailing my different experiences. This letter, along with my subsequent interview, allowed me to enter the official academic realm.
Creative writing is my passion, but I have a flexible and adaptable style and enjoy writing of all sorts. Content for websites, cover letters, brochure pages, essays. You name it, if I haven't already tried it I am willing to try it now.
I also don't believe in "writer's block." If there are words to be written then I will show up at the page. If the first time I write the scene and it isn't up to my standard, I will re-write again and again until it is perfect.
My grandfather, who was also an author and who's book is required reading in Bahamian schools, always said writing is re-writing, and I will re-write until I, and my clients, are satisfied.
