Lauren Curtis; Versatile Freelance Visual Artist & Art Teacher
I was graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers Univ.) in 1988, and have since been selling my fine art and freelance illustration/design work throughout the U.S. and in Europe, and have participated in over 150 solo, juried & group exhibitions, won several awards and am a member of NJ Arts organizations.
My work is shown in galleries, art fairs, Holistic & Crafter Expos, health centers, & was accepted for a solo exhibit at Johnson & Johnson World Headquarters in New Jersey.
The media I work with include oils, acrylics, pen & ink, watercolor, pencil, charcoals and photography, and Photoshop. I have been commissioned to create a wide range of artwork, including book & magazine illustrations & covers, historical illustrations, pet portraits, paintings, designs for craft & greeting card companies & promo graphics for businesses. My illustrations & photographs have appeared in national & international printed & on-line publications.
Creating art to meet my client's needs is my goal!
Work Terms
I enjoy working with a variety of clients and like to keep in regular communication with them via phone &/or email during the duration of the project. A deposit of 50% of the total fee is put in escrow and released to me upon completion of 1/2 of the project with the remaining 50% released upon completion, but this can be adjusted according to the specific project. The client owns 100% rights to the work upon payment. My clients are encouraged to provide me with as many details and reference materials as possible in order for me to provide the most accurate bid and supply the best artwork or design to meet their needs. My fees include rough sketches with up to 3 changes for all projects and any additional changes will require small, additional fees (this rarely occurs). I will email low resolution images to the client and once they are approved I will complete the image and release the final, high resolution images upon final payment. The final artwork is emailed as high res. JPEG, PDF or PSD files (or all 3 if needed) or can be snail mailed if required if shipping/handling fees are paid for by the client.
