Briefly, I have spent the last eight invigorating years teaching visual arts in New York City. However, after becoming deeply invested and inspired by my yoga practice I moved to Peru in October to learn how to teach yoga, immerse myself in a different culture, and learn how to speak Spanish fluently. I am also interested in learning more about the environment through agriculture, farming, and gardening. I completed my 200 RYT Certification and will teaching at Flying Tree Yoga in Medellin, Columbia in February in addition to taking intensive Spanish lessons.

I have had the opportunity to teach in a number of charter schools in Brooklyn and Manhattan, thus affording me a wide range of educational experiences allowing for both personal growth and refining my craft as a teacher. This included working in East Village, Brownsville and Bedford-Stuyvesant, areas with demanding student populations. Despite the inherent challenges, I was able to bring to the forefront significant personal assets and at the same time draw on the available feedback from administrators and colleagues. All of this has enabled me to reach for and maintain high standards coupled with a dynamic, consistent, and positive classroom atmosphere. In addition to teaching, I used my writing skills to acquire $15K grants, publicized Annual Art Shows that I curated of student work, and developed curriculum that continues to be used in the schools in which I worked.

While my experience is predominantly in teaching art, my enthusiasm for learning and sharing knowledge with others makes me an ideal candidate for online work.

Work Terms

I am available to work 3-5 hours each day, or more if time is of the essence for a deadline.
