Political, charity and IT communications/marketing consultant
In 2004, I became the youngest managing director in the UK at the age of 15 in IT consultancy. I grew a business from a £50 investment to an £85,000 turnover at the time of sale. This involved a natural ability to sell-in services, the development of SEO, PPC and click-based ads.
I went on to a pursue a successful career in politics, advising a backbench Conservative Member of Parliament in a marginal constituency in communications and research. I joined his team in 2010, with a majority of 536, and aided in returning the MP to Parliament with a majority of 4,000 votes in 2015 - above the national average swing.
I have a strong background in strategic campaigning. I am able to get to grips with the audience that you are targeting rapidly and deliver against strong competition. Through an ability to understand data and empathise with an audience, I ensured that my previous employer became an active face of employment, healthcare and the cost of living within his constituency.
I devised and led the development of a website which was responsive to constituents' expressed needs, created a newsletter which had over 4,500 on my departure alongside liaising with local, regional and national press. I influenced policy at the highest level via petitioning the Conservatives in government to adopt the policy of providing a £12,500 Personal Allowance in Income Tax.
I am adept at press releases, securing regular coverage, alongside ghostwriting for leaders and politicians who do not have enough time to write for themselves.
Additionally, I am an excellent copywriter with proven experience in marketing, with a role as Online Communications Trustee for a charity in Derbyshire.
