I am a passionate teacher who believes in setting a positive example for our youth, our future.
Hello! My name is Lisa, and I've been a mathematics teacher for 7 years. I earned my B.S. and Single Subject Teaching Credential from CSU East Bay in Hayward, California. I currently teach 8th grade, and have taught 7th grade, high school, and EL and special needs populations. I believe that the exchange of knowledge is just that: a reciprocal act. I teach my students each day, however I learn from them, as well. I believe it's crucial to be a positive role model for our children, as they are our future. I believe every student is capable, and can achieve anything they set their mind to. The most rewarding part of teaching is observing a child's self-confidence blossom as they realize and practice their abilities.
I'm also bilingual in Spanish, and offer tutoring services in math and Spanish (or both simultaneously if needed). I love learning languages, and feel there's beauty and art in the ways that we communicate with one another.
Work Terms
I am flexible with work hours in the window of 07:00 - 18:00 each day. My communication style is prompt, friendly, and professional, and I seek the same from those I collaborate with.
