A full-stack web developer, with a background in high-performance super-computing. My passion is correctness and reliability, delivered with bounded time and cost.
My experience is solidly grounded in 15 years of high-performance computing. I've worked for various institutions, both locally and internationally, to develop physical simulation software to run on supercomputers. This has given me an appreciation for correctness and thorough testing.
The past 7 years I've been transitioning to web development, finding great enjoyment in building stable, highly efficient web applications. Beginning with TAO (the Theoretical Astrophysical Observatory), and culminating in working as CTO for a web development company.
My opinion is that correctness and reliability are paramount in software development. A close second is maintainability; writing point solutions may be fine, but reusable components will continue to be of benefit.
