Aspiring Programmer and Student at Monash University Malaysia
Being a software developer means that learning never stops which is why I am looking for opportunities to work on projects to utilize and expand my skills.
I have been gathering experience in this field since the age of 15 and the fire to learn more has only gotten brighter. Every developer has a story of when they first fell in love with the field and I am no different. The joy I had when my first SCRATCH program made the cat sprite move around on the screen was immeasurable. I remember vividly thinking of all the possibilities available to me and what I could do.
It was only a year later when I writing my code in Python to create number guessing games and camel racing game. Learning about different programming paradigms or different data structures in Python was a joyful ride. I was lucky to study Python as part of my high school (GCSE) curriculum but that was not enough for me.
Outside of the classroom, I began self-teaching myself programming languages. I tapped into game development with C# and used that to learn all about object-oriented programming. Furthermore, for my Extended Project Qualification for my A-Levels, I decided to use that opportunity to yet again expand my skillset and use the time spent on this qualification to learn C++ and tap into Cryptography. That project allowed me to quickly get fluent at C++ thanks to my past experiences in programming.
That passion has enabled me to exceed so far and I cannot wait to do more. It drove me to pursue a university education, studying computer science where I got to quickly learn and expand my skillset to Java. Ultimately I love nothing more than solving problems using computers and working on projects with peers.
