I am a multimedia journalist with special skills in TV and online journalism. Master Degree in Journalism with Distinction. I have worked for more than 7 years in different areas of media.
Throughout my education I have received training from BBC, Thomson Reuters, McCann Worldgroup, OXFAM International, Hivos, UNICEF and Leuphana University.
The way we communicate with others has always been an essential part of who I am, that’s why I chose to study Communications/Journalism. For me it is not only the way we communicate, it is also a bigger concept of how we express our ideas and how we interpret the information we receive.
Managua Furiosa, was the main project that I was working on, it’s not only an online platform, but also a project in action with film forums and workshops focusing on human rights, gender equality, digital security, cultural activism, and many other important social issues. Through all these activities I have promoted art and culture as valid options to social development.
That's why I have been able to work in different areas of media such as, marketing and communication roles.
When I studied my Master Degree in the UK I had one thing in mind: to gain more skills so I can tell stories in different ways, with the same passion I had when I was younger, but with more professionalism and experience.
In my time as a multimedia journalist, I’ve seen how a small project can do great things in a chaotic country, for example, with the work I have completed for Managua Furiosa. When I started university I knew I wanted to do something different as a journalist, for a society where the media is focused on violence, corruption and empty entertainment. I knew it would be something hard to do, almost impossible.
