• 1999–2000 Post-graduate certificate, Corporate Communications, Centennial College (Learned the specifics of writing news releases, web site content, newsletters, corporate speeches etc.)

• 2000 – 2002 Worked for two years in the corporate communications world – one year with the federal government of Canada and one year with IBM Canada. Produced corporate pieces like internal employee newsletters, external news releases, magazine articles, copy for employee special events (flyers, brochures etc.) and web site content.

• 2002 – 2010 English language teacher in South Korea, Taiwan and China.

• 2010– April 2014 Worked at non-writing related gigs including Customs cross border data analysis. Also completed a semester at a community college program (Investigations, Private and Public) to better understand investigative techniques, strategies and report writing.
