I'm Manjiri Gajmal, a Data Scientist combining my expertise in microbiology with data science to create impactful, data-driven solutions. My career journey began as a microbiologist at Bhavans Research Center and Shubhda Research Institute in Mumbai, where I developed skills in research, quality control, and clinical studies. Over time, my interest in data-driven decision-making led me to pursue a career in data science. This shift was crucial in my professional growth, and I earned an Advanced Certificate in Machine Learning and NLP from IIIT Bangalore, equipping myself with the tools to bridge science and data.

One of my most rewarding projects was predicting thyroid cancer recurrence using clinical and pathological data. By applying machine learning models like Random Forest and XGBoost, I successfully predicted cancer relapse, helping improve healthcare outcomes. This experience reinforced my belief in the power of data science to drive real-world impact.

As a freelancer, I’ve had the opportunity to work on diverse projects across multiple industries. For instance, I enhanced loan outcomes on Prosper.com by using predictive analysis on customer data. My work with machine learning models in R improved loan decision-making and boosted lender confidence. I also worked on a cancer detection project using unsupervised learning, where I applied clustering techniques to identify hidden patterns in cancer datasets, enhancing detection accuracy.

In addition, I’ve worked on IPL Cricket Analysis using Tableau, analyzing data from IPL matches (2008–2024) and creating interactive dashboards to help stakeholders make informed decisions about player and team performance.

I’m passionate about continuous learning and staying updated on the latest advancements in AI and data science. Whether I’m solving healthcare challenges, optimizing financial services, or working in sports analytics, I approach every project with a focus on quality and tangible results.
