For fixed price projects upto $300
- 100 % advance payment

For projects between $300 - $1000
- 50% advance
- 50% after completion

For projects over $1000
- 30% advance
- 40% divided on each milestones until prototype is done
- 30% remaining after completion of the project

I prefer skype for a faster communication but can consider on what my clients are comfortable with.
