All of my knowledge and experience with writing and editing will be at the disposal of the employer.
I started writing books to share with my classmates when I was in Kindergarten. I made it into a scholastic writing competition when I was in elementary school, took a creative writing workshop when I was in middle school, and enjoyed taking AP English and writing classes in high school. Needless to say, I've always had an affinity for pen and ink. Although I ended up as a Biology major in college, I was strongly tempted to double major in English. I reconciled this by becoming a writing minor. I was also hired as a reading and writing tutor for the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point based on a recommendation by my freshman English professor. I was able to advance my skills in both creative and scientific writing through my major and minor, while also becoming better at analyzing and improving writing through my work as a tutor. Arranging words on paper is one thing, arranging those words into something the audience wants to read is a gift entirely in itself. The finesse in which it takes to write well is probably what has kept me captivated for all these years.
