Riki holds a BA Degree in Communication and a Post Graduate Degree in Spanish from the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. She also has a ATCL Speech and Drama Qualification from Trinity College, London, an Associateship in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the College of Teachers at the Institute of Education, University of London, as well as the Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (A pass).
Riki began her career in the hospitality industry in Queenstown, New Zealand before starting her studies. During her studies, she spent a total of 24 months living and teaching English in Argentina and Spain. While completing her thesis in New Zealand taught at General English at Language Schools New Zealand, as well as running their Social Program and the Evening School. In 2009 Riki travelled to Colombia, Brazil, Peru and Chile as Marketing Adviser with English New Zealand to promote New Zealand as a destination to study English.
On moving to Cape Town in 2010,Riki taught English at Good Hope Studies and obtained a Certificate in Introduction to Interpretation from the University of Witwatersrand. During the Fifa World Cup she worked with Adidas as a VIP Group Guide and Brand Coach, responsible for the hospitality programme execution for Adidas foreign language executives.
Riki’s business experience includes a 2 year stint as an Account Manager., providing business and technical support and solutions to a portfolio of 150+ of Southern Africa´s biggest companies.
Riki is also a an entrepeneur. In 2012 she started her own company; Lingo Adventures offering a freelance tailor-made language learning solution which
combines her love of languages with her ability to facilitate and support others in various capacities around the world, she has been involved with a wide range of projects.
In her spare time she mountain bikes, dreams of scuba diving and lives for delicious meals and summer.
