Design is thinking made visual

My name is Maria Ebbets, I am a graphic designer seeking freelance work.

I graduated from Hofstra University in 1997 with a degree in English, Desktop Publishing concentration.

Over the span of my 20 year career working with clients, publishers, ad agencies, sales and design teams, as well as multiple print vendors, I have gained vast experience that I utilize with each and every task I approach. Each position I have held throughout the years has helped sculpt me into a versatile designer, with my work spanning across all platforms and ranging from digital/print advertisements in newspapers, to magazines, journals, and books.

I started my first position in the industry at YellowBook, laying out the directory pages. Since I have moved on to magazines such as Travel & Leisure, Food & Wine, Whole Living, and Oprah. Within those positions I was a production designer, and helped set up the issues for digital versions. I also have experience working on the print side of the industry in my position with RR Donnelly. Currently, I work for Newsday designing advertisements, and promotional materials used for both print & digital. All of these positions have help hone my skill set.

I am most satisfied bringing my clients visions to life. Working with them every step of the way-from conception to completion. I am proud of the work I do.
