Experienced writer and researcher with rigorous science and technology background

Hi!

I'm a lifelong reader and writer, and have authored many pieces ranging from short blog posts and newspaper op-eds to longer magazine articles, research reports, peer-reviewed journal articles, and edited books and book chapters. I have also ghostwritten various things for clients.

I'm a trained scientist (PhD in biology) who's held various positions in the academic, national security, technology, and media sectors. I'm strongest when trying to explain something complex in simple terms, making an argument that something is true (particularly if contrarian), and juxtaposing thoughts from diverse fields to illuminate an issue in a new way.

I'd like to do some paid freelance writing, and I'm also qualified to do market research, audience analyses, and basic strategy for you.

Work Terms

I am happy to do one-off assignments like proofreading a document or re-writing/polishing a rough draft, or take on longer assignments like a research project or a series of articles. My prices are flexible, but fair, given my advanced degrees, experience, and track record of research and writing in a number of industries.
