Doug has been in some form of marketing, sales and promotion his entire life. In high school and college he worked in retail. After college he set sales records in agricultural advertising. Then, he was heavily trained in direct mail and direct marketing, where he put together database driven national programs. He wrote copy, organized marketing plans and strategies and measured results following implementation.
He moved into the association world in 1994 when he became Vice President of Marketing for a statewide trade association. While there he designed and wrote brochures, member recruiting letters, space ads, postcards, mailings, press releases and more. He created the group’s first website in 1997.
In 2002 when he became CEO of another local association, he successfully. His writing skills were expanded, creating presentations, writing press releases, media interviews and Board documents.
In June of 2011 Doug moved over into the technology arena to assist his son in a technology business. He began designing and creating websites, writing even more copy for the digital realm. Doug became expert in SEO, social media and video.
