JAPITA Translator and Interpreter
My name is Martina Piva Veroi, I was born in Pordenone, Italy, in 1991. There are two things that I particularly love and with which I'm looking forward to building my professional life as a freelancer: Japanese language and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, but now it's about the first of these two passions that I would like to briefly talk.
I've grown up dreaming about Japan so I decided to study Japanese at university. I enrolled at Ca' Foscari University of Venice in the Department of East-Asian Studies in 2010 e finished my studies at university in the march of last year (2017), when I concluded my Master of arts' studies with a thesis based on the first novel written by Murakami Haruki, "Hear the Wind sing": its title was "About loss and surrender: Murakami Haruki and Hear the Wind SIng - provided with an original translation of the novel". Working on my thesis and translating the novel I had the ultimate proof that becoming a translator of Japanese novels was the dream of my life.
