Freelance journalist and content creator

My name is Maryam Farag, and I’m a passionate writer, storyteller and content creator. My Digital Journalism Diploma helped me explore all kinds of skills needed to be a storyteller, from writing, reporting, hosting, to photography, videography and graphic design. I have also graduated with a Communications, Media and Film Bachelor Degree that enhanced my abilities to utilize all my skills for digital and social media marketing matters.
Presently, I work as a Freelance Journalist for Torstar Corporation, and I write different types of stories ranging from hard news to feature stories. I enjoy telling the stories of other people and giving a voice to the voiceless. I also work as a social media specialist for a not-for-profit organization called Kindness Café, creating social media posts, stories, graphics, and engaging with our audience. Not only am I a storyteller, but I’m a digital marketer as well, meaning that can create stories and engagements knowing the right audience to target and the best practices to give visibility and credibility to our pages.

Work Terms

My hourly charge rate is $10. I prefer initially sending a request by email and then communicating further by phone or video meeting.
