For over two decades I have been an IT professional with my primary focus on Data and Business Intelligence, ELT/ETL Processing for Reporting, and Creating and/or Improving Data Models and Queries for Enterprise Microsoft/Azure SQL Database solutions. Since 2016, I have been employed exclusively with job titles and duties containing SQL, “Power Bi” and/or SSRS Reporting, and Business Intelligence Data Analyst”.
From the beginning of my career my attention and expertise has in some way been in transforming my business’s raw data into actionable visual insights as websites or reports, and to create data models with a single source of truth that drives strategic decision-making for my employer and mentor junior members of my Company and team.
By leveraging all of the skills I have developed in data transformation and database querying in Microsoft SQL, Power Bi, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, and Tableau as well as other relational databases and tools, and report visualization tools; and by utilizing newly available Data Science and AI developments solutions in Google, Azure and Python, et al, I hope to continue to design more innovative & elegant, intuitive & interactive reports that empower my business stakeholders at every level to more completely understand all of our business data, and allow them to make better, more informed decisions.
I believe my proficiency in Power Bi, SQL Data Modeling, and ELT processes has been instrumental in establishing solid Business Intelligence platforms that maintain “one-truth” to ensure clean, consistent, accurate, and manageable data over time and technology advancements. I have designed multiple production data models and ETL processes using among many other tools SSAS and SSIS and converted existing and new datasets and pipelines with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Google Big Query, and Azure Synapse Analytics for datasets, big data, and data warehousing solutions.
In addition to my technical skills, I believe my interpersonal skills have played a vital role in developing effective collaborations between teams and employees. I spearheaded a series of in person and online training sessions that empowered many non-technical employees across departments to harness the power of self-service dashboards and Power Bi reporting tools, increasing their professional skills while greatly increasing the adoption of data-driven decision-making within the organization.
