I have broad experience as an investor and lawyer.
As an investor, over two periods, I managed a long-short portfolio that beat the different benchmarks by large margins. I invested across industries, geographies and market caps. I used an eclectic approach focusing on among other things how a technology or market would evolve. Before managing long-short, I analyzed illiquid distressed investments.
As a big-firm lawyer, I focused on corporate bankruptcies. In the case where I billed the largest proportion of my hours, we achieved a series of outstanding results for our client, a leading insurer. I also worked on general litigation, structured finance and leveraged finance. I started my law career clerking for a year on a federal appellate court.
In addition, I've worked as a temporary project manager at an Ivy League-affiliated research institute.
I received my JD from a top Ivy League law school, where among other things I was a senior editor of the law journal and co-president of the law & technology society; my MBA in one year from a top European business school, where I tested "fluent" in two foreign languages; and my BA from a leading Ivy League college, where I graduated summa cum laude and phi beta kappa.
My strengths include a differentiated viewpoint and common sense.
