Mc Carthy Samalani was born and raised in Malawi; he holds Master of Public Health and Associate Degree in Business Administration. His field of work experience dates back from 2011 and he has worked with local and international organizations in
different capacities. He worked at Youth Net and Counselling (YONECO) as the Project Officer and was responsible for youth development, women empowerment and promotion of human rights, thereafter he worked with PSI Malawi as a Youth Alert! Supervisor responsible for youth clubs, youth economic empowerment and sexual reproductive health rights.

Currently McCarthy is co-founder and a director of local NGO called Interactive Society for Health and Development (ISOHEDE) that envisioned a healthy and resilient people that enhances positive change and sustainable development. McCarthy has attended a number of short courses in different fields namely: Civic leadership, Guidance and
Counseling, Elections and Governance, Youth Development, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, HIV Management and Environment Advocacy among others.
He is also a recipient of different scholarships for various international conferences which include: African youth dialogue, emerging leaders’ conference, brightest young minds, international youth conference and in 2015 Milky way youth
movement selected him as Global youth Ambassador.
McCarthy has championed the 2012, youth policy formulation, women rights, youth development and climate change advocacy in Malawi.
McCarthy has demonstrated skills in project implementation, academic writing, University admissions, scholarship application, report writing, public speaking and career coaching
