With personalized professional writing, I help clients communicate efficiently and effectively without losing the personal touch.
I am a native of Norfolk, Virginia, where my husband and I recently purchased our first home. In 2016, I graduated from The University of Virginia with a B.A. in Religious Studies and a minor in History, a transcript full of courses focused on writing—research, analysis, and creative—and a strong sense of how to connect with an audience.
Over the past four years, I have been on a journey to find my career, initially working in marketing and events and project management for payroll implementation. Each boss has recognized and applied my ability to connect with people through writing to further business and communication.
Aware of my love for writing, I took a professional detour two years ago to become a high school English teacher. After acquiring education credits, I landed a job for the 2019/20 school year teaching 9th and 12th grade reading and composition. Throughout the year, I sought to show young adults that they have a lot to offer this world—so they better know how to communicate. With some sass and a desire to get me off track, they would often respond with questions about why I was “only teaching” (boy, were they mistaken, but that's a topic for another day).
What they didn't realize was their questions were poking something inside me. Turns out, teaching teenagers how to write under a strict curriculum is a lot different than writing itself. So, with a lot of soul searching and a few pep talks from my husband, I decided to veer back to following my two passions: writing and people.
I write to connect with readers, and I believe that desire for connection is why most small business owners started their journey. I use my skillset to help those with a common goal of connecting with their audience, especially since I know, for many, writing does not come easily.
Work Terms
I work Monday through Friday, with flexible hours, though working diligently to complete projects.
I bill per project completed at an hourly rate.
Email communication works great for me. Though I am willing, and at times eager, to meet via Zoom or phone call depending on the circumstance.
