I have a BA in English Literature from the University of Arizona, and over 12 years of varied experience in writing, non-profit work (arts, community development, and social services), and education.

Writing, and helping others to effectively communicate their ideas and to reach their goals, has always led me to exciting and unexpected places.

I have been involved in a large number of successful projects. Some of my favorites have resulted from the dynamic creative and conceptual work I do with local project designer Tom Martin. We've worked on everything from the naming and marketing of popular Phoenix restaurants to the proposal and implementation of a farm to table agricultural project that works to preserve an area of historic land in Scottsdale.

Another of my favorite writing experiences involved my recent editing and shaping of a local author's memoir. I was honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of telling this man's compelling life story.

Perhaps the most formative experience of my career was working on a small team at Roosevelt Row, a community and arts development non-profit in downtown Phoenix. On a typical day, I might write a press release, create the weekly newsletter, help a sculptor to arrange her latest exhibition, and plant a bed of arugula with a group of students from the nearby science charter school.

I am eager to tackle new and challenging projects. I love what I do, and I want to help others to do what they love to do.

Work Terms

Available 30+ hours per week. $25/hour (open to project specific offers). Flexible services. I welcome as much discussion of your project and ideas as needed.
