Professional notes: I have experience with web content, blogging, resume writing, educational and technical writing, ghost writing of all kinds, marketing/SEO blogging, bios, feature articles, white papers, brochures, newsletters, editing and proofreading, medical transcription and terminology, health/wellness, education and recruiting backgrounds are my areas of expertise.
Personal notes: I've been writing all my life. As a teen I journaled about all the injustices of life, like parents who vetoed my requests to have sleepovers at my boyfriend's house. And, like the pain of the boyfriend who broke up with me to be with Jenny Whats-Her-Face, because she thought his infatuation with PRINCE was so much hotter than I ever did (oh the humanity!). Hey - Writing helped! In my 20's I journaled about the process of 'finding myself' through my marriage to a man 15 years my senior and 10 different jobs. My 30's was all about journal entries in those little black and white composition books. The pages were filled with bits about my new born son and all the milestones and whimsy things that were happening in my then single-mother-life. Now in my 40's, I've finished a Bachelor's degree and realized that this love affair with writing is something I need to put to use, not only to feed my soul but to help generate a little income too! That would be... well... a dream come true.
Work Terms
My hours of operation are flexible. I do work full-time but will always find time for my passions, one of which is writing. I prefer e-mail as a means of communication, generally. However, at onset of a project, a local meeting or a Skype meeting is great. It's nice to put a face with a name. I'm open to travel, given the right circumstances. As for payment terms, my last project was a business brochure for DrugFreePA.org (non-profit). They paid me 30% up front to get started, and the rest at final submission. The fee was based on an hourly rate, determined by the non-profit. I am flexible and open in regards to payment terms.
