Empowering people to empower themselves
Through out my life I have been taught, “Much is required from those to whom much is given, for their responsibility is greater.” This statement has assisted me in developing my personal philosophy of leadership as well as teaching. My personal philosophy of teaching is assisting people to visualize, set and accomplish their natural goals and empower themselves to become productive members of society. I believe that teaching embodies accountability, integrity and responsibility and is a continuous process that lasts a lifetime. I believe these beliefs align with the elements of character and high expectations espoused in the mission of any organization.
As an educator, I am responsible for positively impacting the lives I encounter by encouraging new ideas, dispelling myths and presenting challenges to the traditional train of thought. My goal is to ensure people grow and develop in a nurturing and positive environment. I am responsible for facilitating the learning process while allowing students to understand they are valued and respected.. My teaching and leadership philosophy makes me accountable to my students and organization by requiring me to keep current with all trends and be mindful of all of my actions. As a teacher, I must model integrity through my words, actions and deeds as well as be a responsible and productive member of my academic and global community. If I maintain this philosophy throughout my personal and professional life, I will foster an environment of continuous learning which allows me to live my personal philosophies of leadership and teaching.
