Providing quality service of proofreading, writing, editing, and data entry.

I have a B.A. in English, as well as experience in writing, proofreading, editing, and data entry. Past positions include: daily newspaper reporter (specializing in feature writing and performing proofreading and editing of colleagues' work), and data transcribing and data entry for the federal government and a federal contractor. In addition to writing for a daily newspaper, I have written newsletters as part of past jobs, and I am working on my own writing projects (a novel, screenplay, and non-fiction ebooks).

I am interested in grant writing and have studied with a very successful professional grant writer, but I have not had the opportunity to write one. I would like to have someone take a chance on me to do that, knowing I have a good support system to make sure it is done right.

I am a great organizer and compartmentalizer, as evidenced by my past work as a library book cataloger. It involved skilled, detailed work, but it was also tedious and somewhat repetitive. I like that kind of work. I am good at organizing someone else's writing, and I'm especially good at putting together cookbooks and finding ways to make them more than just a collection of recipes. I do not write recipes, but I do standardize existing ones.

Subjects I am better than average at in terms of knowledge and/or aptitude: British 18th- and 19th-century literature, cat behavior, behavior in general, vegetarian/vegan diets and cooking, inflammatory conditions and necessary dietary changes due to them, natural medicine, gardening, buying and selling online, and the art of persuasion...and Hello Kitty.

Work Terms

I have a fairly open schedule, so I can turn around a project in a shorter amount of time than many others can. I slightly prefer smaller projects if they are general writing or proofreading, but I am interested in longer ones also, such as grant writing, book proofreading and/or editing, and similar ongoing projects or data entry.

My terms are listed. I am new to Guru, but I have done a little work on a different but similar online platform. I am currently inexpensive due to that.
