In December of 2003 I got a BS degree in Technical and Professional Writing, with a Multi-Media Development Minor, from Utah State University. Following this degree, I worked on freelance technical writing and publishing projects, and worked in sales and customer service for Verizon, Sprint PCS and Direct TV.

I returned to Utah State University for another BS degree in Secondary Education, with a School Library Administration Minor, which I completed in June 2007. During the time I pursued my second degree, I worked as a counselor in the University's Writing Center, where I helped English language learners and students with disabilities with their writing skills.

Following this degree, I spent five years teaching at risk teens an inner-city public charter high school. Our charter was for Film Education, and in addition to teaching literature and composition, journalism and yearbook and serving as the school's librarian, I aided the film department in the production of a feature length film adaptation of Hamlet.

I've returned to freelance writing, editing, publishing and instructional design while I am designing and building a new home for my family.
