Physician Data & Clinical Research Scientist with a prolific publishing record consisting of more than 210 peer-reviewed academic publications in high-tier medical and surgical journals.
I am a physician data- and clinical research- scientist with over 7 years of experience in outcomes research, healthcare analytics, imaging research including radiomics and deep learning, bioinformatics analyses evidence based medicine (EBM).
Over the years, I have honed several skills in utilizing machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to study drivers and patterns of patient outcomes. I worked with multiple departments at Mayo Clinic on various informatics projects using administrative datasets (NIS, NRD, SASD, Vizient CDB-RM), claims database (Medicare, OPTUM) and surgical and cancer registries (NSQIP, NCDB, QOD, SRS, SEER). Leading the efforts to translate some of our findings into various point-of-care tools underscored for me, the importance of collaborative and comprehensive research initiatives.
I have published over 210 manuscripts to date, 35 first author, consisting of outcomes research, imaging research, practice guidelines, meta-analyses and meta-epidemiology projects.

I perform all my statistical analyses as well as machine learning analyses in R. I am well-versed in performing healthcare economics analyses including QALY (Quality Life Years Gained) using metrics such as Euro-QOL 5D (EQ5D) and Short-Form 36 (SF36). I am also focused on using deep learning and radiomics for imaging biomarkers. I have attached a JuPytR notebook here for one of my projects. I am proficient in applying segmentation masks (for example for tumors), performing first order statistics, and other deep learning techniques. I am also an evidence EBM specialist and serve as an EBM consultant for North American Spine Society (NASS) and AO Spine.
Work Terms
I typically charge by the hour: $100/hr for my analytic works and clinical research works.
If I enjoy working with a client, I try to pursue a longer collaboration in the form of equity partnerships in the company in addition to regular compensation.
